I imagine the Winter Solstice and the subsequent weeks signifying the ending of one cycle and the quiet beginning of another. That shift isn’t immediate, it’s a gradual emergence. I’ve been reminded lately about the reality of change, it’s slow. Painfully slow in certain moments. There have been times over the last year when I’ve felt like I was going backward, a regression on the progression I desperately craved.
It’s understandably tempting to abandon anything visionary and settle into the present during those moments. And while there’s nothing wrong with that, settling has never been my strength. Contentment feels like a language I’ve only just begun to learn—one I can fumble through but don’t speak fluently. I’m a bit of an extremist, wired for action (both a gift and a curse). Lately, I’ve been wondering how to capture the duality. To find ease and joy in the present while still holding space for ambition? And can we build sustainable structures around ourselves that facilitate a steady, less volatile relationship to evolution?
